SBS Transit's latest buses come with the Euro 5 compliant engines.

The low-entry single-deck buses each comes with a wheelchair ramp at the rear door and able to accommodate one passenger in wheelchair. A reduction of one wheelchair space compared to the earlier Euro 4 model.

The 9,290cc buses are each equipped with Hanover electronics destination display which have a larger font display compared to the Cool-Air version on the Euro 4 model.

SBS8031J is a demostrator fitted with Gemilang bodywork. It first started revenue service on 22 Jul 2008 on service 6 and make occasional appearances on service 17 and 354.

SBS8031J has been taken off revenue service since 14 Aug 2009. The said bus is believed to have completed the 1-year trial and returned to the vendor.

SBS8030L is a Volvo B7RLE assembled by Soon Chow Corporation, a local bus and coach builder, for Volvo. The Euro 4 bus made it's first revenue service appearance on 174 in Jan 2008.

The Scania K230UB low-entry single-deck buses each comes with a wheelchair ramp at the rear door and able to accommodate two passengers in wheelchairs.

These 8,867 cc buses are each equipped with Cool-Air electronics destination display.

The first of the 501 such buses with Malaysia's Gemilang bodyworks was deployed on service 100 on 01 Nov 2007.

The Volvo B9TL WAB (Wheelchair Accessible Bus) low floor double deckers, with environmental friendly Euro 3 engine design, are the first public buses in Singapore to be equipped with wheelchair accessible ramps. These new buses are fitted with bodywork provided by ComfortDelGro Engineering (CDGE).

SBS9889U is Singapore's one and only Volvo B10TL Super Olympian bus fitted with bodywork supplied by UK-based PSV International. It first commenced revenue service in March 2005 on service 147 and 147A.

A total of 50 Volvo B10TL Super Olympian buses fitted with Australian Volgren bodywork were introduced onto Singapore's roads in year 2002.

Two of the B10TL Super Olympian buses (ie. SBS9810X and SBS9888Y) were equipped with electronic destination display. However, the electronic destination display console was subsequently removed from SBS9888Y.

The first of the 12 Volvo B10LE / Volgren Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses was launched on 22 April 2002. Till to-date, they are still the only public buses in Singapore running on CNG.

SBS Transit operates a fleet of 20 Dennis Tridents with Duple Metsec (DM) bodyworks. Each Dennis Trident is designed to carry 132 passengers. The first Dennis Trident was put on revenue service in August 2001.

SBS2888T is a Scania L94UB4X2 fitted with Australian Volgren CR221L bodywork. This bus came with low entry feature to facilitate easy boarding.

It was first introduced to SBS (now SBS Transit) in 1999. In 2009, the bus was withdrawn from revenue service (last on Express 518) and redeployed as a training bus.

SBS1688K is a Volvo B10BLE fitted with Australian Volgren CR221L bodywork.

This demostrator was first introduced to SBS (now SBS Transit) in 1997. It also came with a low entry feature to enable easy boarding for commuters.

SBS1688K is currently deployed on SBS Transit's service 163 plying between Sengkang and Toa Payoh.

The first Volvo B10M Articulated Bus with Duple Metsec (DM) bodywork was put on revenue service on 26 April 1996, and was then the longest bus in Asia. The 19m bus can carry 146 passengers. It has 3 doors to facilitate faster boarding and alighting activities.

SBS Transit used to operate a fleet of 2 articulated buses, including a Volvo B10MA-60 / Duple Metsec (SBS0998Y) and Mercedes O405G / Volgren CR221 (SBS0999U).

Both buses were last deployed on Service 18 plying between Bedok and Tampines before they were sold to an operator in New Zealand.

The Volvo B10M Mk IVs intercooled buses were introduced between 1995 and 2000. The 4th generation Volvo B10M buses were fitted either with Duple Metsec (DM), Alexander Strider, Duple Metsec 3500 (DM 3500) or PSV International / Soon Chow bodyworks.

SBS0997A is a 14.5 m 3-axle Volvo B10 Intercooled/ Duple Metsec bus. This demostrator can carry 110 passengers. It commenced trial service in 1995. This bus is commonly known to local bus fans as Super Long Bus.

The operator begins to retro-fit some of the existing 12m Volvo Olympian 3-axle double deckers with Japanese LECIP electronics displays. These buses were originally adopting plastic plates to reflect the service numbers and destinations. The first two buses (ie. SBS9618K & SBS9661J) with the new electronic displays appeared on Singapore's road in Jun 2009.

471 12m Volvo Olympian 3-axle double deckers fitted with Walter Alexander (WA) bodywork were gradually introduced in 3 batches between 1994 and 1999. These 3 batches have variations in terms of front step height, front and rear door width, emergency side windows, passenger capacity and headlights.

The 10.5m 2-axle Volvo Olympian buses joined the SBS Transit fleet in the year 1994/1995. These non-air con buses are fitted with Alexander R Type bodywork. They were the last batch of non-air con double deckers acquired by SBS Transit.

10 Dennis Dart with Duple Metsec (DM) body works were first introduced in 1994. The 9.4m bus is designed to carry 53 passengers. In accordance to the operator's website, these buses have been put up for sales.

In 1993, Singapore's first 12m Leyland Olympian 3-axle aircon double deckers with Walter Alexander "R" type bodywork was built in UK. The rest of the 199 buses were assembled in Singapore.

These buses were the last batch of Leyland buses built in the world as a result of Volvo's acquisition of Leyland. Each Leyland Olympian 3-axle bus was designed to carry 123 passengers.

Till-to-date, most of these 12m Leyland Olympian 3-axle buses together with the Volvo Olympian 3-axle buses are still serving the public transportation system in Singapore. Also, they are commonly known to Singaporeans as "SUPERBUS".

A total of 300 Volvo B10M Mk III with Duple Metsec (DM) bodyworks were introduced in 1992. These buses were equipped with air-cons.

Between 1990 and 1992, 700 Mercedes Benz O405 were introduced to the SBS Transit fleet. Of which, 500 were air-con buses. The O405s were either fitted with Duple Metsec (DM) or Walter Alexander (WA) bodyworks. The current fleet of O405s are now fully air-conditioned. The operator is gradually de-registering the O405s to make way for newer buses.

A total of 200 Walter Alexander (WA) bodied Scania N113CRBs were acquired between 1988 and 1990 by SBS (now "SBS Transit"). 150 were non air-con buses, while the rest were equipped with air-con. All non air-con Scania N113CRBs were eventually retro-fitted with air-con.

In year 2006, one of the Scania N113CRBs, ie. SBS0073R, was retro-fitted with a new driver compartment design, ticketing machine, seats, exterior grillies etc.

By Apr 2009, the Scania N11CRBs have completely disappeared from the roads of Singapore.

A total of 200 Volvo B10M Mk 2 were introduced in 1988 to 1989. Two different bodyworks, namely, Duple Metsec (DM) and Walter Alexander (WA) PS, were fitted on these buses. By year 2008, all Volvo B10M Mk 2s were de-registered and ended up at the local scrapyards.
