SBS Transit's latest 12m Wheelchair Accessible Buses (WAB) come with the Euro 5 compliant engines.
The low-entry Gemilang bodied single-deck buses each comes with a wheelchair ramp at the rear door and able to accommodate one passenger in wheelchair. A reduction of one wheelchair space compared to the earlier Euro 4 model. Each bus is licenced to carry 87 passengers.
The 9,290cc buses are each equipped with Hanover electronic destination display which have a larger font display compared to the Cool-Air version on the Euro 4 model. The interior of the bus is cooled by Carrier Sutrak air-con system.

SBS8031J is a 12m MAN 18.240 HOCL-NL A69 single-deck demostrator fitted with Gemilang bodywork. The 6,871cc powered low-entry Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) has a carrying capacity of 91 (including 2 passengers on wheelchairs). It is equipped with Cool-Air electronic destination display and CoachAir air-con system.
It first commenced revenue service on 22 Jul 2008 on service 6 and make occasional appearances on service 17 and 354. SBS8031J is taken off revenue service from 14 Aug 2009 onwards. It is then speculated that it has completed the 1-year trial and returned to the vendor. However, the said bus make a comeback in Nov 2009 and currently deployed on service 6.
As at to-date, SBS8031J remains the sole active MAN bus in the operator's fleet after the retirement of SBS0081S (MAN 16.240 HOCL / Soon Chow) in Feb 2007.

SBS8030L is a 12m Volvo B7RLE single-deck demonstrator assembled by Soon Chow Corporation, a local bus and coach builder, for Volvo.
The Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) is equipped with a Euro 4 compliant 7,148cc engine, Cool-Air electronic destination display and Denso air-con system.
This bus made it's first revenue service appearance on 174 in Jan 2008. As at to-date, SBS8030L is the only Volvo B7RLE model in the operator's fleet.

The first of the 200 Volvo B9TL low floor double-deck buses was unveiled in 15 Feb 2006. These new buses are fitted with bodywork supplied by ComfortDelGro Engineering (CDGE), the engineering arm of ComfortDelGro Group (CDG). CDG is also the parent company of SBS Transit.
The 12m Wheelchair Accessible Buses (WAB) are each equipped with environmental friendly Euro 3 engine design and Denso's air-con system. They are also the first public buses in Singapore to be fitted with wheelchair accessible ramps.
These buses are each equipped with a 9,364cc engine and licenced to carry 124 passengers. The first batch of 10 buses commenced revenue service on 27 Jun 2006 plying service 21, the first wheelchair accessible public bus route in Singapore.

SBS9889U is Singapore's one and only Volvo B10TL Super Olympian bus fitted with bodywork supplied by UK-based PSV International.
The 12m double-deck demonstrator is equipped with a 9,603cc engine and licenced to carry 122 passsengers. It is fitted with Transit Media's electronic destination display and Denso's air-con system.
It first commenced revenue service in March 2005 on service 147 / 147A and currently plying on service 166.

The first Volvo B10M Articulated Bus with Duple Metsec (DM) bodywork was put on revenue service on 26 April 1996, and was then the longest bus in Asia. The 19m bus can carry 146 passengers. It has 3 doors to facilitate faster boarding and alighting activities.
SBS Transit used to operate a fleet of 2 articulated buses, including a Volvo B10MA-60 / Duple Metsec (SBS0998Y) and Mercedes O405G / Volgren CR221 (SBS0999U).
Both buses were last deployed on Service 18 plying between Bedok and Tampines before they were sold to an operator in New Zealand.

SBS0997A is a 14.5 m 3-axle Volvo B10 Intercooled / Duple Metsec bus. This single deck demonstrator, commonly known to locals as "Super Long Bus", can carry 110 passengers.
This bus is equipped with electronic air cleaners, climatic aircon temperature control and photoelectric door senors. These inclusions are considered the "state-of-the-art" technology then.
This 3-axle bus first commenced trial service on 19 Oct 1995, plying on service 76. Subsequently, it also operated on service 107 and 174. The trial allows the operator to assess the suitability of deploying such buses on popular routes where double deckers are unable to ply due to height constraints. However, there is no subsequent order placed by the operator.
As at to-date, SBS0997A is still plying regularly on service 62.

The operator begins to retro-fit some of the existing 12m Volvo Olympian 3-axle double deckers with Japanese LECIP electronics displays. These buses were originally adopting plastic plates to reflect the service numbers and destinations. The first two buses (ie. SBS9618K & SBS9661J) with the new electronic displays appeared on Singapore's road in Jun 2009.

In 1993, Singapore's first 12m Leyland Olympian 3-axle air-con double deckers with Walter Alexander "R" type bodywork was built in UK. The rest of the buses were assembled in Singapore.
Each Leyland Olympian 3-axle bus is designed to carry 123 passengers. It is equipped with self-steered axle, full air suspension braking system and environmental friendly CFC free Nippondenso air-con system.
The first of the 200 buses commenced revenue service on 01 Sep 1993, plying on service 7. These buses are the last batch of Leyland buses built in the world as a result of Volvo's acquisition of Leyland.
Till-to-date, most of these 12m Leyland Olympian 3-axle buses together with the Volvo Olympian 3-axle buses are still serving in Singapore's public transportation system. These buses are commonly known to Singaporeans as "SUPERBUS".

Between 1990 and 1992, 700 Mercedes Benz O405 were introduced to the SBS Transit fleet. Of which, 500 were air-con buses. The O405s were either fitted with Duple Metsec (DM) or Walter Alexander (WA) bodyworks. The current fleet of O405s are now fully air-conditioned. The operator is gradually de-registering the O405s to make way for newer buses.

A total of 200 Walter Alexander (WA) bodied Scania N113CRBs were acquired between 1988 and 1990 by SBS (now "SBS Transit"). 150 were non air-con buses, while the rest were equipped with air-con. All non air-con Scania N113CRBs were eventually retro-fitted with air-con.
In year 2006, one of the Scania N113CRBs, ie. SBS0073R, was retro-fitted with a new driver compartment design, ticketing machine, seats, exterior grillies etc.
By Apr 2009, the Scania N11CRBs have completely disappeared from the roads of Singapore.
